A starter plate

Tableware included starter plates made of porcelain or glass in various shapes. The described starter plate is made of crystal (lead) glass and has a crescent shape. This shape disrupts the plainness of traditional tableware and allows various types of starters to be served elegantly. The plate bottom is smooth only in the middle section. A decoration (cut) of radiating rays was placed on the underside. The plate has a low rim gently curved upwards with a smooth ground edge. The rim on the underside (exterior) id decorated with a brilliant cut with a six-pointed star motif and a sharp wide facet, whereas the plate interior is smooth. Glass has always been known to man and the first glass objects of natural origin were found near volcanoes. The first production of glass dates back to 5,000 years ago, when Phoenician traders melted glass accidentally in a bonfire.
