A letter

Museum of the history of Polish Jews
Part of the collection: Correspondence from Emilia Endler Ratz
The letter on four pages of ruled paper, the first three pages written in copy pencil, the last page was used for addressing (the whole was folded into a triangle), although Halina Altman had previously started writing on it, but had blurred the first three lines of the letter (the content was the same as the content of the letter from page one); visible postmarks at the address, including the number 08963, no stamps. From the contents: My life is passing very monotonously. We are constantly sitting in place, work is scarce and boring, one would like to do something, to act. Inactivity is very annoying, all the more so as there is nothing to read. Until recently, the situation was even worse, because there was no one to talk to, and there are so many current issues we would like to talk about. A few days ago I met little Bela (you remember Bela Szpinak from Kalecka). She was moved to the seat next to me for work. Now we meet often. I just breathe lighter since I can talk freely with a loved one. There are so many topics that we talk for several hours in a row and we still cannot get enough. The day before yesterday I saw Jurek Krykus for the first time. I haven't actually talked to him properly yet, because he was with me when I was on guard duty. He now occupies a rather serious position. [...] Now we are together with the Second Division. Unfortunately, for the time being I have not been able to meet with the others, and above all with Niurka and Roma. There is a mass of friends here, but it is very difficult for me to meet with them. Lusia is in the third division.
