Main bridge. The photograph depicts a fragment of the inner park at Łańcut from the south-western side, with a fragment of the glass field with the blossoms and bushes planted, and with a portion of the main bridge. During the upgrade works at Łańcut conducted by the third ordinary, Roman Potocki, and his wife, Elżbieta nee Radziwiłł, it was erected in place of the former by the first ordinary; the new main bridge, of stone, with side guards shaped as putti and eagles as well as vases, in which between Spring and Autumn decorative plants were potted. This bridge survives until today. In the background we see the lime tree alley planted around the moat by princess Izabella Lubomirska (d. 1816) after the embankments, formerly in front of the moat, were removed. The earth embankments, with the walls and moat, constituted the Łańcut fortifications created in the 17th century. At the end of the 18th century, the system was useless, hence, inside the moat, directly at the castle, the first garden was established, with lime tree alleys planted where the embankments around the moat were removed.
