Part of the collection: Malarstwo i rysunek
Rectangular oil portrait, 3rd quarter of 18th century, painted by an unknown author originating from the German school. It depicts a young man against a schematically pictured sky. The portrayed person is shown half length with his face and gaze directed towards the viewer. He has a full oval face with a double chin, dark eyebrows, large black eyes, prominent nose and slightly smiling vermillion lips. His complexion is golden and pink, with fairly deep blue-grey shadows. On the head of the portrayed man, there is a powdered wig and a black beret. His left hand is lowered casually along the body, whereas his right hand is tucked behind the justacorps tail. He is wearing a dark green velvet justacorps, laced with gold. Underneath, he has a white shirt adorned with a lace jabot and cuffs, and a black kerchief tied around his neck. The background is a blue sky covered with grey-orange-white clouds. It has a wooden frame, broad, gilt, openwork, with its inner profile decorated with an ornament of ivy leaves.
