Photograph. India 1910. A photograph depicting several men in cork helmets riding partly shown seven elephants in a tropical forest. The men, two per basket on top of elephant backs, are shown from behind. Every basket has a steel frame design, is filled with a rotang mesh, with two side walls trapezoidal, and the rear wall significantly lower than the front one. The baskets rest atop large, thick mattresses, together with which they are fastened to the elephant backs. Photograph taken in the year 1910 during Alfred Potocki’s trip to India.
