A forwarding order for sending ten boxes to Stockholm with a proof of advance payment; numbers: 410/112 (the order), 01858 (the proof of payment). The order document was filled in by Paulina Włodawer (ordering party), on the C. HARTWIG S.A. International Expeditors order form.In specially ordered, hammered and sealed boxes - one of the symbols of March '68 - all their belongings (of course, X-rayed by customs officers), which they wanted to take with them while leaving Poland were loaded. Everyday items, souvenirs, books, works of art (after obtaining special permission), etc., were packed in boxes. All Artur and Paulina Włodawers' possessions from the post-war period could therefore fit into ten such as boxes.Of course, people who were departing could not take many things: they tried to sell them or were giving them away. According to one of the entries in Paulina Włodawer's memoirs, the Włodawers did not take, among others, the set of bright furniture - they were sold to members of the Bajer family, with whom they used to stay in Asino. “[Bajer] did not think then that he would also eventually emigrate, but the time has come for that as well. After some time he came to Sweden, taking these pieces of furniture with him, but he settled somewhere in Malmö or maybe in Gothenburg. However, he called us and came several times. The last time he visited, and was sitting in one of our green armchairs, he informed us quite calmly that he had cancer and that he had little time left. That wasn't a charge on his part, it was really a very tough man. There was no need for banal words of consolation, he neither wished nor expected it. So we only said goodbye very warmly, knowing that we would not see each other again. After quite a short time, we received a letter from a person, unknown to us, who informed us about his death, in accordance with his wishes. I don't know what happened to the bright furniture '' (MPOLIN-A4.1.1, entry of 17 November 1980).
