Correspondance

Two letters to the Tarasiewicz family on one sheet of paper. The first one is written by Miriam Wasserman née Kaczergińska, sister of Salomon and mother of Aron, with whom she was hiding during the occupation with the help of the Tarasiewicz family. In it, she briefly mentions one person who died during the war, expresses her gratitude and describes her current living situation (hers and Aron's) in Israel. On the second page there is a letter from her husband, Abraham Wasserman, whom she met after the war. The author opens it with a quotation from the poem Mój testament (My Testament) by Juliusz Słowacki (I lived with you - I suffered and cried with you. I have never been indifferent to anyone noble). In his letter, he thanks for the help given to his wife and stepson during the occupation. He writes that the Tarasiewiczs saved Poland's honour with their attitude. He also expresses his longing for Warsaw, which he left after returning from Siberia at the end of the war because he was fleeing the country like a plague, as far as possible from the graves.
