Hanging cabinet clock

The hanging cabinet clock has a cuboid shape with a cornice and a profiled pedestal. It is glazed at the bottom so you can see the pendulum, which ends in a large metal wheel. The round metal dial features Arabic numerals and an inscription: MARTIN HALBKRAM / K. u. K HOF.UHRMACHER / WIEN I. Starting in 1891, Martin Halbkram was royal watchmaker in Vienna, his operations falling during the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I. Halbkram sold his wares in his own shop on Kärntnerstrasse, located in the first district of Vienna, at the time considered the most expensive shopping street in the Austrian capital. From 1894, he also held the title of court watchmaker to the Grand Duke of Luxembourg. He also represented the firm of A. Lange & Söhne in Vienna. He also offered Vacheron & Constantin IWC and Movado watches. In addition to small clocks, he also sold large ones (including those made by Lenzkirch). At the turn of 19th and 20th centuries, the clock was bought for the Castle in Łańcut at the request of Counts Potocki and now it is exhibited on the 2nd floor of the Castle, in room no 58.
