Romantic Castle in the park in Łańcut The photograph shows the Romantic Castle in the park in Łańcut, built around 1805, from a design by Chrystian Piotr Aigner. It is a rectangular building with a circular tower in the north-eastern corner, in Classicist style with Neo-Gothic elements. The view of the castle is shown from the south-west, showing it surrounded by full-grown, spreading trees and bushes. The façades of the two-storey building are covered with vines. The photograph was taken in the summer. The photograph was taken by Dr Józef Piotrowski (1873–1939), a Lviv art historian. From 1 June 1920 to 1929, he served as a conservator at the Lviv Voivodeship Office (see Piotr Lasek, Inwentaryzacja zabytków architektury w lwowskim okręgu konserwatorskim 1920-1939. Szkice z dziejów, Warsaw: Instytut Sztuki PAN, 2020, pp. 32–62). He was the author of the study Zamek w Łańcucie. Zwięzły opis dziejów i zbiorów and the author of photographic documentation of the Łańcut Castle, its interiors and collections, today owned by the Łańcut Castle Museum (among others, albums, volumes I-X, Lviv 1936) and the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw (albums, volumes I-IX, Lviv 1929).
