Part of the collection: Zegary
Around the middle of the 19th century, Boulle-type and Rococo-style clocks forms were maintained or reintroduced. Boulle-style cabinet clock made around the 2nd half of the 19th century. Clockwork with bells ringing out the hours and half-hours; dial with Roman numerals in separated, enamelled medallions. Wooden cabinet with brass inlays, as well as bronze appliqué with floral motifs and gilding. The clock cabinet is glazed, has profiled sides, is set on volute legs, and crowned with a fully plastically modelled mythological scene. The surface is decorated with floral-geometric marquetry, which also covers the console, the floor, and the inner side of the clock's rear door. At the bottom of the front wall's window is a scene depicting a young woman pointing at the clock's dial. Additionally, there are solar motifs that repeat on the dial and pendulum. At the top of the clock, in the obelisk-shaped crowning is a figure of a woman resting her left hand on a celestial globe. The brass rear wall is also decorated with a floral motif. The repoussé brass dial was encrusted with white porcelain plaquettes showing Roman numerals in navy blue.
