The photograph was taken at the end of the 1930s or the beginning of the Nazi occupation. Maria Sapieha was the daughter of Jerzy Zdziechowski, Minister of Treasury during the Second Polish Republic, and Marta Bławdziewiczówna. She married Jan Sapieha, son of Eustachy and Teresa, née Lubomirska, grandson of Andrzej Lubomirski, the Ordynat of Przeworsk. Maria and Jan Sapieha had sons: John Paul, Jerzy Andrzej – visible in the photo – and Eustachy Piotr.
The photo comes from the album of the Lubomirski princes.
