Saucepan

Part of the collection: Metale

Popularization note

Saucepan A copper saucepan from the Potoccy family collection, from the end of the 19th/ beginning of the 20th century. The dish is deep, shaped like a tall cylinder, with a cover and a grip. The cover is round, its circumference tightly fitting around the saucepan body, with a grip. The cover grip is made of copper, is trapezoidal in shape, with an ending in the form of little hearts, riveted to the cover. On the side of the saucepan there is a grip, fixed with a ring and four rivets. The grip is bent, finished with an opening used for hanging. On the body of the saucepan, the letters „AP” and the Pilawa coat of arms are embossed under a nine-pointed crown. The saucepan interior is whitened with tin. The discussed saucepan is displayed in the Eastern Corridor in the 2nd floor, where copper products (kitchen utensils) are collected. This collection is largely what is left of the now non-existent castle kitchens.
