The National Museum in Poznań is one of the oldest and most important museums in Poland. Established in 1919 as the Wielkopolskie Museum, it now brings together Polish and European collections, forming one of the most remarkable art holdings in the country – from historical to contemporary works. Its main seat includes a historic building from 1904 and a modern extension completed in 2001. The museum includes nine branches, such as the Museum of Applied Arts in the Royal Castle, the Museum of Musical Instruments, and the Rogalin Palace Museum. It actively engages in a wide range of exhibition and educational initiatives.
