The Pyrzyce region is an area with rich soils, abundant in water resources (Miedwie and Płoń lakes, Płonia and Ina rivers). In the second half of the 18th century, a large group of settlers from the present-day Netherlands and Friesland came to the Pyrzyce region. The elements of culture brought by these settlers by overlapping with local traditions led to the creation of a specific, regional type of culture clearly visible in construction, clothing, furniture and ceramics. The design of the Pyrzyce group is characterized by rich colors and ornaments with a dominant tulip motif. After the heyday (first half of the 19th century), from the 1870s - along with the development of industry - the traditional Pyrzyce folk culture began to slowly disappear. Its final end was the years after World War II, when the inhabitants of this area were displaced to Germany.
