Castle Museum in Łańcut
Part of the collection: Glass
The glass was made in an unspecified Polish glass factory in the first quarter of the 17th c. It is made of thick glass, has a conical shape, and is decorated on the entire surface. On the front, there are two coats of arms: the Rzeczypospolita (Republic of Poland) coat of arms and the coat of arms of the Saxon Wettin dynasty. They are framed by plant branches, and above them, there is the royal crown. On the sides of the glass, there is an inscription: VIVAT AUGUSTUS/REX POLLONIA. The back of the glass is decorated with vine shoots. The bottom of the vessel is thick, made of solid glass, matte underneath. Barbara Trojnar
