Casket made of brass from the 19th century, chiselled cast, probably made in Austrian, from the collection of the Potocki family. The casket (without a lid) with rounded sides and cut corners is standing on four legs. The legs in the shape of stylised paws are covered with a floral and hardware relief decoration. The walls of the casket are covered with similar decoration – on matt background, additional decoration at the upper edge of the casket consists of a double strip of stylised cube ornament. The top edge of the casket in the form of an openwork trim with floral ornament and a decorative serrated edge. The casket is exhibited in the Turkish Apartment on the ground floor of the castle. This this type of product had two functions, namely decorative and utilitarian – it was used to store valuables (at that time it was equipped with lids) and locked with a key. The caskets were made of various costly materials, richly decorated with precious stones and noble metals. It entered widespread use in the second half of the 18th century.
