View of the Ballroom A watercolour painting on paper, from the castle collection, presenting the Ballroom in the Łańcut castle (status before 1830). The room is shown in a perspective, view from the Grand Dining Room onto the closed door to the Dining Room Over the Gate. In the centre of the painting, there is a fireplace with wall lamps and vases. The room has two storeys and a frieze comprising griffins and windows in two rows. Along the walls (on the left and right hand side), on the marble columns (columns on pedestals), there are gold and dark blue candle holders with bases in the form of vases. The room is illuminated by four brass chandeliers ˗ status before the assembly of the new chandeliers during the reconstruction at the turn of the 19th and the 20th century. The floor is made of wooden square-shaped sections divided with decorative slats. In the room, there are groups of playing children and guardians taking care of them. Unfortunately, the author of the watercolour is unknown and the dating of the painting is made possible on account of the laid floor, as it is known that the present-day intarsia floor in the Ballroom was installed in the 1830s, thus the watercolour must have been created before that date. The presentation is accompanied at the bottom with black ink specifying the persons presented in the painting: children from the Lubomirski and Potocki families. The painting in a narrow wooden gilded frame is exhibited in the Gala Bedroom comprising a part of the Gala Apartment on the first floor of the castle.
