Cabinet clock
19th (?) century
Castle Museum in Łańcut
Part of the collection: Clocks
The cabinet clock made in the 2nd half of the 18th century has a bracket-type casing. Rectangular wooden casing, blackened, gilded, has brass elements. At the top of the cabinet is a handle that allows the clock to be more easily carried. The front wall can be locked. The large central dial is enamelled in white with Arabic numerals indicating minutes, hours, and days of the month. Surrounding the dial is a repoussé floral ornament. Openwork steel hands, oxidised. Above the dial are two overlapping rings - switches for the sounds of the repeater and alarm, with inscriptions: "Repetiert- nicht", "Nicht - Schlagt", as well as a medallion with a rural landscape depicting a man with a fishing rod. Inscriptions in black. Decorative openwork is installed in the upper corners of the cabinet, and above are four finials shaped like torches. The presented clock is currently located in the Lord Ordynat's Office.
