Part of the collection: Metals
Decorative nail A decorative nail for suspending draperies (one of many) from the Potoccy collection. It is made of steel and brass, the cast is precisely finished, from the beginning of the 20th century. The nail is large, decorative, it is composed of a steel base finished with a sharp pointy end, and a head in the form of a floral rosette (made of brass). The rosette is fixed to the leg on a thread. The rosette is quite large, round, shaped as a small flat blossom in the centre, from which eight quite large leaves protrude, with their veins clearly marked. Between the leaves there are campanulae. The reverse is smooth, slightly concave at the spot, where the rosette meets the nail body. The edges of the rosette are cut in the shape of a flower. These nails can be seen around the exhibit, where they support the draperies.
