Together with her husband and son, Wiera (Wenera – is her name in official documents) Pacanowska also set off on another journey in her life. She was born on 26 June 1925, in Gajczur, now Ukraine. After the end of the war, she came with Bolesław and son Anatol (born in 1945) to Poland, where she spent almost 25 years. Initially she studied at the State Higher School of Visual Arts in Łódź (she was, among others, a student of Władysław Strzemiński), but later she decided to study Russian philology at the University of Łódź, which she completed in 1955. In 1968, politics entered her stabilised professional and family life. After the events of March 1968, she and her husband moved first to Vienna, then to the United States (see MPOLIN-A18.1.9). She died in 2002 in Monterey, California.Renata Piątkowska
