Parish church in Łańcut

Post card issued during the occupation, in ca. 1941, by the Kraków „Akropol” printing house. The photograph is made from the direction of Farna street, looking towards the church of St. Stanislaus the Bishop and Martyr, around which we see a fragment of city walls and a small section of a pavement with stone plates, once a portion of walkways around Łańcut. Along the axis of Farna street, on a stone base, we see the figure of Holy Mary, a former grave monument, a trace of the parish cemetery that existed here once. The church tower over the area was erected according to a design by Dionizy Krzyczkowski during comprehensive reconstruction works in 1896-1900. Frontally protruding, it is square in shape, and covered by a pyramid top, winged by stair-type towers leading to the choir. The ground floor includes a porch. The works executed at the time were done according to designs by Teodor Talowski, by order of Elżbieta and Roman Potock, as well as the provost of the time, father Emil Zauderer. During these works, an eclectic temple with dominant Gothic revival portions, was created. Joanna Kluz
