Glass with a castle motif
18th century
Castle Museum in Łańcut
Part of the collection: Clocks
Mantel clock, classicist. It has a very rich bronze ornamentation. The clock is heavy due to the use of dark green marble with cream-coloured veining. The plinth consists of two rectangular plates; on the smaller one with a relief, there is a mythological scene. The whole is supported by four legs in the shape of a lion's paws. On the left side, on an ornamental tin base, there is a rectangular space for the clockwork mechanism with a crowning in the form of a bust of a man with a laurel wreath on his head. Next to it, on a plinth, stands a bronze sculpture of a man in ancient clothing gazing at the bust. At the feet of the statuette lies a scroll of paper.
