Prince Andrzej Lubomirski (1862-1953)

Popularization note

Andrzej Lubomirski was born as the son of Jerzy and Cecylia, née Zamoyska. He spent his early childhood and school years in Cracow, living in the Lubomirski palace at 15 St. John Street. He completed his law studies with a PhD at Charles University in Prague. From 1886 he took over the formal duties of the Ordynat of Przeworsk and the literary curator of the Ossoliński National Institute in Lviv. In his activity, he became famous primarily as an industrialist, the creator of the Przeworsk sugar factory and the modernizer of the Lubomirski family entailed estate in Przeworsk. He died in exile in Brazil in 1953.

He married Eleonora Husarzewska (or Hussarzewska), with whom he had four children: Helena, Jerzy Rafał, Teresa and Maria.

The presented photograph was taken at the turn of the 1920s and 1930s.
