Part of the collection: Clocks
A handy watch to hang close to the workplace, easy to carry, e.g. when travelling. The case is a profiled white metal frame, surrounding a circular dial decorated with rhythmically repeating empire motifs. Above 12 o’clock there is a handle with a ring attached to the bezel. The underside of the frame is protected by a round bottom with a tilting round plate, covering the access hole to the mechanism. This was originally a full plate pocket watch mechanism with spindle escapement and balance wheel under the chignon. There are visible signs of the mechanism being upgraded to the current owner’s needs. The spindle catch and balance wheel have been removed and replaced with a bridge with cylindrical catch, one-metal balance wheel, flat hair and straight shifter, while retaining the decorative chignon. The transmission of the spring drum drive to the balance drum is by means of a Gall chain. Bearing of the balance wheel axle is stone, with ruby cap stone.
Watch with minute and hour indications on a round white enamel dial with black Arabic numerals. Spring tension hole next to the 1 o’clock numeral.
The watch was not listed in the former inventories of the Wilanów Palace.
