The photograph shows Maria Czarnowska, née Sumińska (behind the wheel), her brother Artur Sumiński (sitting next to her), her husband Stanisław Czarnowski and sister Lula Sumińska in the car. The photo was taken by Baron Jan Albin Götz-Okocimski, an industrialist, owner of the Okocim brewery. The photograph comes from the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. It was a time when the automotive industry began to develop and switched to mass production. In 1886, the first car in history was created, designed and assembled by Carl Benz.
