Frying Pan

A deep frying pan made of copper, crafted manually; a Vienna product from the end of the 18th century from the Potocki collection. The vessel has the shape of a cylinder, slightly broadened at the top, with a rounded bottom edge. A simple steel handle is attached to the mantle at the right angle with two copper rivets, ended semi-circularly, with a small opening for hanging. Large number “XI” is imprinted on the handle. The utensil bears signs of use and repairs (in two places) at the upper edge and at the bottom. The repair was made by placing additional copper sheets and riveting them to the place of damage. The frying pan was tinned inside. The discussed frying pan is exhibited in the Eastern Corridor on the second floor, together with other vessels made of copper, which predominantly constitute remnants after the no longer existing castle kitchens.
