A photo from the period of World War I: activists of the Citizens' Committee office in Łódź The network of Committees was established during the war in order to support, especially economically, local communities affected by the various consequences of the ongoing war. Halina Baruchówna is pictured in a white blouse. The man on the left is her father, Tadeusz Baruch, who was an important Committee activist (both in Łódź and Pabianice).
