Part of the collection: Clocks
A floor clock in a three-tiered cabinet case, consisting of a simple hood which contains a mechanism with a clock face visible through a circular glazed opening in the door, forming its front wall. In the side walls of the hood there are rectangular openings with acoustic grille. The body in the shape of a stylised semi-column with a door in the front and a high cuboid plinth housing a pendulum and weights. The dial with seconds, minutes and hours indications with three hands on applied tin numeral circle. The mechanism has a weight drive, a hook catch, and a long, heavy pendulum on a steel pendant. There is a separate drive for the running mechanism, a separate drive for the hour and half-hour mechanism and a separate drive for the quarter-hour mechanism. A comb strike system and a pinwheel regulator are used here. The clock is also equipped with a repetition mechanism.
The mechanism with a dial is matched to the case. The smooth, polished surface of the mahogany cabinet, juxtaposed with skilfully placed decorative gilt plaques of empire ornament, forms a stylistically compact composition of high aesthetic value.
