Part of the collection: Floor tiles
The gift from Przemysław Szpilman, the long-time director of the cemetery at Okopowa Street in Warsaw. The tile comes from the premises of the no longer existing Preburial House. It is a hexagonal unglazed ceramic tile. The face shows a two-colour pattern (in beige and grey-blue colours). In the central part there is a grey-blue six-pointed star. A grey-blue stripe runs along the edge. The composition is symmetrical. The whole surface of the plate is covered with a spatial, uneven pattern imitating cracks. On the reverse of the tile the producer's mark in the shape of a six-pointed star is centrally located.
