A letter

Popularization note

A letter from the Warsaw ghetto to Asino, to Paulina Włodawer from her sister - Regina Justman with annotations from her parents, Aron (in German on the first page, bottom) and Miriam (on the second page, top and bottom) Justman. On the first page, at the top: ‘An P. Włodawer [next words underlined:] U.S.S.R. | Asino | Novosibirsk region.’Regina Justman writes: ‘I would not like to worry you, my Pepcia - but it is really hard for me and I feel really hopeless. It’s like in a nightmare: a choking fear and the feeling of falling into a bottomless and endless abyss. I only have one wish: not to suffer for a long time and for it to be over as soon as possible. Nothing else interests me anymore, I am overwhelmed by a strange dullness and indifference to everything. In the resent days, we received a package from Mank, as if sent from heavens. Never have I ever experienced such joyful moments as today when we received a  notification of the parcel. You have to put in the maximum effort because this is no joke, my loved ones!
