A photo of the Baruch and Wolffsohn (Wolfson) family on vacation in Switzerland, probably in 1908. Tadeusz Baruch (1868-1918) with his brother Maksymilian (1861-1933), his wife Diana and children, and his father-in-law Markus Wolffsohn. They stand against a studio background depicting mountain peaks.On the left, Tadeusz Baruch, above his brother Maksymilian Baruch, in the centre in the top line (with a hand-drawn head frame: scratched lines) Diana née Wolffsohn, wife of Tadeusz, author of the letter ('I can assure you that this photo lies as to the appearance of Diana, who turned away looking to the side at the most important moment'); to the right of her, perhaps Maksymilian's wife, Anna Konstancja Baruchowa; in the bottom row from the left: Halina Baruch, Maria Baruch and Kazimierz Baruch (children of Tadeusz and Diana), the boy at the lap of his grandfather, Markus Wolfson. On the reverse, a letter dated: 14.8.08, indicating the place of writing: Gossensass – and the address: 'Bronislas Koral | Hotel Alpenbrick | Weggis | Suisse'; the photo was sent as an obverse of a travel letter.The stamp is partially torn off, together with a part of a round postmark; another stamp is fully visible, obliterated only in its middle part.In the middle of the top edge, there is a trace of a nail or a pushpin.Tadeusz Baruch gained his education in the field of chemistry in Zittau in Saxony. Born in Pabianice, during World War I, he lived in Pabianice and Łódź (activist of Civic Committees). Maksymilian Baruch was a historian and lawyer, he worked in Łódź (until 1896) and Warsaw (until 1921). From 1916 onwards, he also worked at the Archives of Historical Records in Warsaw. In 1922, due to his health condition, he moved to Nice, where he died.
