Part of the collection: The family memorabilia of Justmans and Włodawers
A document issued by the 12th State Police Station - confirmation of the notification of Aron (Artur) Włodawer address change within the capital city of Warsaw, with a fragmentary (mainly the middle part) seal on the left edge (no. 1/2/4/12 and the date on it). On the printed, one-sided template, with information on taking up residency at 6 Graniczna street [the name is not written very clearly] apt. 26 on 14 July 1937.The Włodawers lived on Graniczna Street until September 1939, when the house was bombed (they were not there at that time). An excerpt from the diary of Paulina Włodawer (MPOLIN-A4.1.1): “From 6 Graniczna Street (where my father and I lived), nothing is left. In fact, it is difficult to even distinguish where the number 6 was, and where it was 8 (these houses faced the Saxon Garden from the back, where initially anti-aircraft artillery stood, and they were knocked down very early). There are people everywhere among the rubble - some are looking for their missing loved ones, others for something that may have remained, others simply hope for some loot'' (entry of 9 December 1980). However, the building was still standing and the Włodawers saved some items from their home, as evidenced by the rceollection of the Włodawers' departure from Warsaw: “We had our things in bags, so as to draw as little attention as possible. We still had a few things, because after our first arrival at Graniczna 6, when the lamps were already on the floor and the glass was broken, we packed some things into our suitcases and took them out of the building. Dad even had his fur, and I had a winter coat with a fox collar'' (entry of 23 September 1980).
