Service platter with the coat of arms of Lubomirski Szreniawa

Platter with the Lubomirski-Szreniawa coat of arms A platter from a classicist-style dinnerware set made in the porcelain factory in Vienna circa 1806-1807. The factory was established in 1718 as the second porcelain factory in Europe, after Meissen. It operated until 1864. Breakfast- and dinnerware, as well as coffee, tea, and hot chocolate sets, were the fundamental part of the Viennese factory's production, especially since the fourth quarter of the 18th c. The platter was acquired by the Łańcut Museum in 1982, together with other pieces from the dinnerware set. The above platter is oval in shape, deep, and decorated with golden stripes. On the lip, there is a painted Lubomirski-Szreniawa coat of arms with a Maltese cross. The pieces acquired by the Museum were part of a dinnerware set which likely belonged to Henryk Lubomirski (1777-1850), the charge of Izabela Lubomirska (1736-1816) - the owner of the Łańcut Castle. The knotted monogram HL is painted in black on the bottom of some pieces from this set. Henryk Lubomirski was a Knight of Malta since 1796. Barbara Trojnar
