18th century
Castle Museum in Łańcut
Part of the collection: Glass
The glass flute was made in an unspecified Polish glass factory in the 4th quarter of the 18th c. It is an English-style glass with a round, flat foot, a low, heavy stem cut into a rhomboid shape, and a cylindrical bowl. The edge of the bowl is decorated with a carved pattern of whisk-shaped ornaments and festoons. In the Lancut Castle Museum collection, there is a similarly shaped and decorated glass flute, differing in its taller stem and larger foot (inventory no. S. 1357 MŁ). Barbara Trojnar
