Portrait

National Museum in Szczecin
Part of the collection: Photographs from the collection of Halina Kamińska (Mamelok) née Baruch
The cabinet portrait of Stanislaw Maybaum (Marzynski) probably aged just over ten years. He is seated facing right, wearing a jacket and white shirt with tie, with three-button shorts (bare knees visible). His fringe is combed to the right side of his forehead. The photograph was most probably pasted into a photo album. He was also involved in the reconstruction of historical churches (e.g. the St John's Cathedral, St Florian's Cathedral, St Francis Seraphim Church) and bridges (e.g. as a member of the team responsible for the construction of the Łazienkowski Bridge). | During the war, he participated in the underground: he took part in secret teaching and fought in the Warsaw Uprising. His wife was Hildegarda Marzyńska, originally from Austria (1910-2002; also a participant in the Warsaw Uprising, in which she was a liaison officer).
