Part of the collection: Metals
A round, flat lid, made of copper with a steel handle. The manually crated product of Vienna (WIESEL) from the 19th century derives from the Potocki collection. The lid, bearing traces of use, was patched up with the use of a copper plate that was riveted with six rivets. The lid bears the imprinted letters: “A.P. WIEN WEISEL.” A plain handle made of steel, slightly broadened at the top with an opening used for hanging. The handle ends with a heart-shaped leaf and is attached to the lid with three copper rivets. The discussed lid is exhibited in the Eastern Corridor on the second floor, together with other vessels made of copper, which predominantly are remnants after the no longer existing castle kitchens.
