Part of the collection: Photography
Photograph. Alfred Antoni Potocki, 1910. A photograph depicting two men in cork helmets riding an elephant in a tropical forest – sitting one behind the other, shown from the rear, in a basket atop an elephant. The second one is most likely Alfred Antoni Potocki, the future 4th ordinary of Łańcut. The basket, of a steel frame design, is filled with a rotang mesh, with two side walls trapezoidal, and the rear wall significantly lower than the front one. The basket rests atop a large, thick mattress, together with which it is fastened to the elephant’s back. From the rear, one partly sees the head of another elephant. Photograph taken in the year 1910 during Alfred Potocki’s trip to India. Aldona Cholewianka-Kruszyńska
