Mortar with pestle from the museum’s collection, in brass, 19th century. The mortar of cylindrical shape is slightly widening towards the top, it has a turned up collar decorated with grooves. The mortar body is decorated (on one side) with triangular grooves. On both sides of the mortar body, on the central axis, two handles shaped like door knockers. A brass pestle is quite long, it has the shape of a stylised baluster, flattened knobs at both ends used for grinding spices. Traces of tinning inside of the mortar. It is currently exhibited in the Eastern Corridor of the second floor as part of the collection of almost 300 kitchen utensils, most of which come from the unpreserved kitchens of the Łańcut Castle.
