Part of the collection: Malarstwo i rysunek
The rectangular painting depicts a hunting scene against a panoramic landscape. The colours are dark, with predominant brown hues. The painting is lit from the left. The hunter is wearing a tailcoat, from under which we can see a white waistcoat and white trousers with stirrups. On his head, he is wearing a dark top hat. A hunter aims at a pheasant surrounded by dogs. To the left of the painting, in the background, there is a second hunter with a shotgun and a dog. The picture was painted on canvas with oil paints. The author is Philippe Ledieu. It was created in 1831. The painting is framed in a relatively wide wooden profiled gilt frame, decorated with a pearl ornament on the inner edge and a ribbon ornament wound on a rod on the outer edge. It was acquired from the Potocki family in 1944.
