Part of the collection: Zuzanna Kofta's works inspired by stories of hiding Jews
The depiction of Ryszard Ciszewski riding his bicycle with provisions for the Jews hidden by his family. He is shown with three large bundles on his shoulders and a net in his right hand. The wheels of the bicycle with several spokes are strongly outlined. The picture was used as a montage in Ryszard Ciszewski's account of his mother Janina Ciszewska hiding eleven people. The son rode his bike all over town to buy food - he got it by buying food not in one place, but in smaller quantities in many places. He did not want to arouse anyone's suspicions.See the story of the Ciszewski family: https://sprawiedliwi.org.pl/en/stories-of-rescue/story-rescue-ciszewski-family
