Part of the collection: Postcards
Post card issued before 1905, depicting the main entry gate to the castle park. The object, in French classical revival style, was erected during the great reconstruction of the castle and park as done by the 3rd ordinary, count Roman Potocki and his wife Elisabeth, in 1889-1912. At the time, the park was fenced and closed off as private property. The described gate is located from the western part, at the so-called imperial route, near the central part of the town. It is made up of three arcades resting on four pillars, with mock pillars superimposed on these. It was semi-circularly joined with the fence, with a guard house from the end of the 19th/ beginning of the 20th century located just beside it. Joanna Kluz
