A dinner plate

Part of the collection: ceramics

Popularization note

The plate is a part of a dinner set produced in the Porcelain Factory in Ćmielów. It was founded in 1790 and initially, as a small manufactory, produced earthenware and then faienceware. In 1838, it began producing porcelain and has continued doing that today.

This white dinner plate is decorated with three evenly distributed bouquets. A larger one is located on the joint between the flat area and the elevated rim. It consists of a pink rose, blue forget-me-nots and smaller yellow flowers. The other two are much smaller and fit the plate rim. At the bottom underside, there are visible factory marks: C in triangle, a stamp 758 and an inventory number.
