Saucepan

Part of the collection: Metals

Popularization note

A saucepan made of copper, from the Potoccy family collection, from the 19th century. The saucepan is round, quite deep, with a cover and steel grip. The dish is shaped like a low cylinder, with a flat cover, with a circumference allowing the tight coverage of the saucepan. Halfway across the saucepan height, a quarter-ring is fixed using four rivets; here, the steel grip is attached. The grip is long and straight, slightly widening and finished with a semicircle, with an oval opening used to hang the dish. The discussed saucepan is displayed in the Eastern Corridor in the 2nd floor, where copper products (kitchen utensils) are collected. This collection is largely what is left of the now non-existent castle kitchens.
