Pan

Part of the collection: Metals

Popularization note

This pan from the collection of the Potoccy family, made of copper, stems from the 19th century. It is a large, flat pan shaped as a low cylinder, with a steel grip. To the side of the pan, using decorative (four) rivets, a ring is fixed, from which a steel grip protrudes. The grip of flat, straight, slightly widening, and finished off with an opening for handing the pan. On the pan jacket, beside the grip, there is embossed the coat of arms of Pilawa and the letters „A” „P” on the sides. Under the coat of arms there is the number „11”. Inside, the pan is tin-coated. The discussed pan is displayed in the Eastern Corridor in the 2nd floor, where copper products (kitchen utensils) are collected. This collection is largely what is left of the now non-existent castle kitchens.
