Part of the collection: Zuzanna Kofta's works inspired by stories of hiding Jews
The painting showing hot potatoes by the plate on which they are about to be placed. The painting is inspired by many accounts of the first meal of the Jews in many days at the home of their saviours. The motif appears, for example, in an interview by Mira Ledowski-Krum, who recalled with emotion the potatoes eaten after wandering with her mother through the forest in the hut they found at the Działoszyński home (the family eventually hid them).
