Cabinet clock

Cabinet clock made in the 2nd half of the 18th century by the Łańcut clockmaker Józef Zangl; it has a bracket-type casing. Rectangular wooden casing, blackened, gilded, has brass elements. At the top of the cabinet is a handle that allows the clock to be more easily carried. The front wall can be locked with a key. The large central dial is enamelled in white with Arabic numerals indicating minutes, hours, and days of the month. Surrounding the dial is a repoussé floral ornament. Openwork steel hands, oxidised. Above the dial are two overlapping rings - switches for the repeater and alarm, with inscriptions: "Repetiert- nicht Rep[etier]", "Schl[agt] nicht - Schl[agt]", as well as a medallion with the signature "Joseph Zan in Lancut". Inscriptions in black. Decorative openwork is installed in the upper corners of the cabinet, and above are four finials shaped like lit torches. In 1969, the clock was used in the setting of the film "Lokis" and in 1968, it was displayed at the Exhibition of Antique Clocks.
