Part of the collection: Correspondence from Emilia Endler Ratz
The letter from Halina Altman to a friend, on two sheets, envelope missing. From the contents: I have nothing cheerful to write about myself. I worked like a horse. Szymek has recently visited me. I decided to finally settle our relations. I had no more strength to put up with such an unclear situation. Szymek said that he could not promise me anything positive, that he could not part with his child, etc. I have no choice but to end this story. It gets more complicated, because Szymek has been employed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and will soon start an internship in Warsaw. Surely, it would be easier to resign oneself to fate and force oneself to forget[?] from afar than being in such close proximity with him. But, what to do? You will have to deal with that, too.
