Part of the collection: Vehicles and harnesses
SIDE REIN CHAIN from the harness set Side rein chains together with side reins were used for gala harnesses in the English style, to properly bend the neck and lift the horses’ heads. The described side rein chain, which was fastened directly to the bridle, is a chiselled cast from white metal imitating silver. It consists of a round badge with a jewelled count lace riveted to it, framed on both sides by stylised clasps at which small rings are fixed. At one of them there is a hook for attaching the chain to the bridle, and at the other there is a ring for threading the side rein. Aldona Cholewianka-Kruszyńska
