Description:
Situated next to the former road in the northern part of the park, outside the moat, the Small Castle, which ultimately had classicistic and neo-Gothic (in the spirit of romanticism) elevations, was erected between 1798 and 1802 by Jan Griesmeyer for Princess Izabela Lubomirska née Czartoryska (1736-1816). It was rebuilt in 1806 by Chrystian Piotr Aigner, together with the stucco artist Frederick Baumann. A characteristic element of the castle's architecture is a three-storey, strongly protruding tower in the northeast corner, initially only a two-storey tower. After 1821, due to the placing of the estate administration in it, the castle was partially rebuilt.
Located in the tower on the first floor, the Study, entered from the Room with an alcove, has a circular plan with two arcaded porte-fenêtres from the northeast. Between them is a neoclassical fireplace made of brown and red marble, probably designed by Aigner. Above the fireplace, there is an engraved inscription in italics: “Qae d’un Simple Verger la riante Culture/Dit bien, que le bonheur Est pres de la Nature”. A double inlaid door from the south leads to the Room with an alcove. All walls are horizontally rusticated. A semicircular recess adjoins from the west with a spiral staircase leading to the Study on the tower's second floor. The ceiling supported by the entablature is encircled by a ledge composed of palmette, egg-and-dart and acanthus ornaments.
