Photograph of Markus and Miranda née Cohn Wolffsohn

Popularization note

Preserved without a large part of the top left corner and a smaller part of the top right one, the photograph of the Wolffsohn (Wolfson) couple is one of the oldest in the collection. It is known about Miranda née Cohn (Kohn) Wolfson that she was the daughter of Hinda née Fajersztajn (Fajersztejn; b. ca. 1822) and Mojżesz Cohn (b. ca. 1820); she was born in Berlin in 1840 or 1841. She probably had at least six siblings: Ewelina (shown in two other photos in the collection; married to Jan Grossman), Salomea (wife of Dawid Silberstein), an unknown sister (married to Silberstein, we do not know whether he was from the same family as Dawid Silberstein), Klotylda, Gabrielę, Filon Little is known about Markus Frenkiel Wolffsohn's family of origin, other than that he came from Germany. He died in 1910. He was a grain trader. The Wolffsohn family lived in Płock.
